British rock band Bad Touch are back with a new track, “Lift Your Head Up” from their just released album, “Shake a Leg”. All we can say is Bad Touch never cease to amaze us…The new album takes the band to another level….Rock fans will rejoice…

There was a time when rock was the dominant form of popular music. The decline of rock began as early as the mid-1960s. By the 1970s, disco had taken over. However, rock still remained a force until the late 1990s. By the 2000s, pop rock was for the most part the only form of the rock that was charting high on the Billboard Hot 100. Pop rock even struggled between about 2009 to 2011 when dance and “electro” music largely took over pop radio. Rock legends are all claiming to throw the towel in with final tours be announced… KISS, Deep Purple, Slayer, Ozzy and Lynyrd Skynrd..all good things come to an end.

Corporate modal rock band, Foreigner are touring with none of the original members! Is there no fuckin’ dignity? They’ve announced dates for a hologram tour of Ronnie James Dio. If I didn’t know better, it sounds more like the sequel to “Spinal Tap”. Countless undead rock stars  can write a fuzzy memoirs about the cliché of Sex,Drugs and Rock and Roll; and have the closing  chapter be  the crescendo of how the 12 step program helped change their lives.   The biggest grossing concert tour this year is the co-headline of Def Leppard and Journey; which reflects that nostalgia in rock and roll is alive and well. As long as there are 50 + year old women who mask their menopausal “heat flashes” by having a “girls night out” and go see the bands that were popular back in high school..  While the souped-up hybrid of country and rap has stormed the barricades; it’s no wonder that Johnny Cash is probably rolling in his grave in disgust…

Its aging progenitors that find themselves shut out of the cultural spotlight as hip hop takes the lead. Album sales may appear to be in decline but streaming has resuscitated the ailing model.  Unfortunately, legions of loyal followers of rock head to retirement homes or worse…. Death!  Never mind the bollocks from “My Generation”, “Hope I die before I get old.” It’s funny how it takes a rock band from England to declare that rock just isn’t just cool…. Rock and roll is a part of our soul… And Bad Touch are just that…. No need to look elsewhere… its right here….We love this band!
