The reason most people prefer a musical style is their generational association with the music.  The music you experience between the ages of 10 and 25 ends up creating a personal gold standard for what is enjoyable, what’s is “cool,” etc.  Within those 15 years, each individual will be drawn toward slightly different artists, songs, and styles; based on their personality, social status, and how closely they identify with their own generation. For me it was Hendrix, Brit Rock…The Stones, Animals, The Who….L.A. Rock bands.. Love, The Doors… The Byrds…Frisco rock… Jefferson Airplane… Moby Grape…Big Brother.. I’ll argue that this was the greatest epoch ever in music! But it was the 80’s where music had its greatest impact. Through MTV the 80’s was the golden era of synthesizer music and power ballads that became anthems in their own right. Big hair and tight spandex to epic guitar solos..to the passive “schmaltz” of  Barry Manilow to AC/DC head- bangers and everything in between all had a great influence for the music of today.

Los Angeles Rock Band.. Draemings

Musically, the new killer track from Dreamings, “Loveless”  has lots of classic 80’s aesthetic:  Massive thick analog overdubs , retro dramatic and theatrical presentation. Kimi Recor’s shimmering vocal harmonies are duly equipped with prevalent FM radio friendly synthesis keyboard patches and some pretty wicked drum samples. It continues where their 2016 E.P., left off…(We think that “Holy Land” is a Top 10 best of the year). Plan for a new album  is set for the Spring of 2016…
